Inspiration Basque is ... ​​​

 

First of all, it's a family story: My father having worked as a baker for most of my life, baking left a mark on my childhood, leaving me with many beautiful memories and is also largely responsible for my love for cooking today.  So you say to yourself, what is the link between baking and jewelry? ¤​​ Well, Inspiration Basque was the name of a bakery where my father worked for a few years. I wanted a more personal name that represents me and also reflects my origins, so that's how Créations Bleu d'Hiver evolved into Inspiration Basque!

It's inspired: This word sums up my creative process, which doesn't involve a lot of organization and planning, if I'm honest.  I really try to go with the creative flow by letting ideas come to me.  Over time, I find that this method, as disorganized as it may seem, produces my best pieces.  I often make my creative decisions sitting in the studio, letting the stone and metal guide me, a piece of jewelry takes shape, often changing direction along the way which produces a more intentional and authentic piece, according to my inspiration!

And finally... c'est Basque: Evidently, it's me, Émilie Basque!  My intention with each piece of jewelry is to create something that reflects a part of me, that comes from the heart, that I would like to wear and that I hope awakens something in you, bringing a little more beauty into this world, one piece of jewelry at a time.
